The new MERLIN LEGEND R7.0 Advanced Solutions is a two-tiered product that meets the needs of both "cost-sensitive" customers who have basic telephony needs, as well as advanced-solutions customers who need growth potential.

This newest release of the MERLIN LEGEND system will give customers more choices in customizing their desktops at an attractive price point. Additionally, the MERLIN LEGEND R7.0 system gives customers who have PARTNER® phone systems a highly affordable and smooth migration path by allowing them to either reuse many of their PARTNER sets or purchase new LEGEND MLX sets or both.

PARTNER® Phone Sets Supported
With the addition of a new 016 ETR (Enhanced Tip Ring) module, the following PARTNER phone sets are now supported by the new MERLIN LEGEND R7.0 system:

  • MLS (Series 3 - reuse only, no longer orderable) 2 lines x 16 character (2x16) display MLS-6, MLS-12, MLS-12D, MLS-18D, MLS-34D
  • Partner ETR (Series 4- currently marketed and these sets have back-lit displays) 2 lines x 24 character (2x24) display Partner-6, Partner-18, Partner-18D, Partner-34D

The TransTalk® system can also be connected to the new 016 ETR module, eliminating the need for an ATL module.

System Expansion to 200 Digital Stations
MERLIN LEGEND Release 7.0 system increases the maximum number of digital stations to 200 by introducing a new 016 MLX module. In addition, each of the 200 ports can support an adjunct that increases the station endpoints from 255 to 400.

Alpha/Name Display on Caller ID
The new software supports Calling Party Number as well as Calling Party Name.

Voice Announce Option on MLX Sets
New options are available for disabling intercom voice announcements on phone sets when busy.

Enhanced MLX Headset Operation
Headset operation will be enhanced to provide more clarity and consistency.

Priority Call Queuing
We've added queuing features that allow priority callers to be answered ahead of other calls. You can also automatically increase the number of agents answering calls during busy times.

Touch-Tone Rotary Support
A new centralized programming option allows tip/ring ports to be administered as either touch-tone or rotary dialing.

Calling Group Information Enhanced for Legend Reporter
The R7.0 software has been modified so that it reports which Calling Group a caller hung up on while waiting to be answered. This data is used by the LEGEND Reporter software to help managers determine which groups are understaffed..

The Computer-Telephone Integration (CTI) Solution gives employees the ability to receive "screen pops"—information about a caller from internal databases or applications—along with the call. It is designed for enterprises that do not require a dedicated call center, but who want to take advantage of some of the capabilities usually associated with larger, more costly call center systems. CTI screen pops are optional on the new service center solutions that follow.

The Basic Service Center (BSC) Solution is designed for enterprises with low to moderate customer call activity and who need to be able to manage customer calls more effectively without an investment in expensive equipment. The BSC provides traditional call routing capabilities to control the destination of incoming calls. The new AT&T Merlin Legend(TM) System gives businesses with as few as 10 telephones access to advanced communications applications by combining easy-to-use, large-screen display telephones and the latest transmission technology.

The Merlin Legend system is aimed at small business customers, with between 10 and 80 phone lines, who need sophisticated communications features. It's the first key system on the market to offer ISDN connectivity, as well as other advanced networking features, including a T1 interface and videoconferencing support.

Merlin Legend offers a unique combination of capabilities that provides flexibility and protects a customer's investment by reducing the need for small businesses to purchase new systems as their communications requirements change.
