PARTNER® Voice Messaging R3

The PARTNER® Voice Messaging Release 3 system, integrates with PARTNER® Advanced Communications Systems (ACS) Release 1.1 and later releases, and is designed for customers who require limited voice messaging capabilities. The PARTNER® Voice Messaging system is a PCMCIA Card (PC Card) that simply inserts into the Avaya PARTNER® ACS Processor Module, allowing extremely simple installation and no footprint.

There are two PARTNER® Voice Messaging system configurations that you can choose from, based on the requirements of your business: PARTNER® Voice Messaging “Small” or PARTNER® Voice Messaging “Large”.

PARTNER® Voice Messaging "SMALL" provides:

  • Two (2) voice ports

  • Two (2) or four (4) mailboxes           $289.00

  • One (1) Automated Attendant greeting

  • Approximately 40 minutes of storage time

 PARTNER® Voice Messaging "LARGE" provides:

  • Two (2) voice ports

  • Four (4) to twelve (12) mailboxes     $525.00

  • One (1) Automated Attendant greeting

  • Approximately 120 minutes of storage time

Whether you choose the small or large configuration, you get:

  •      Automated Attendant Service – Save time and money letting your voice messaging system answer calls. With the single-level automated attendant feature of the PARTNER® Voice Messaging system, your callers are either prompted to select a code to transfer to a group or extension, or callers can choose to dial a desired extension directly.

  •     Call Answer Service – With Call Answer Service, each voice mail user can create their own personal greeting. Call Answer Service also allows a caller to transfer out of someone’s voice mail to either the operator or another extension.

  •     Voice Mail ServiceGain control options for your voice messaging. With the PARTNER® Voice Messaging system, you have a fixed amount of storage assigned per each mailbox, depending on your configuration. Additionally, you can control whether a voice mailbox is programmed for “Record Mode” only, or “Answer-Only” mode.

With less sophistication than PARTNER MAIL® or PARTNER MAIL VS®, the PARTNER® Voice Messaging system can be thought of as an advanced “answering machine” cleverly integrated into the Avaya PARTNER® ACS System. But the PARTNER® Voice Messaging system is much more than an answering machine. Some of the valuable features include the following:

  •      Automated Attendant – This feature lets callers select the person or department they want by simply dialing a single digit on their touch-tone phone.

  •      Message Waiting Lamp – The user’s message waiting lamp is lit when a message is received.

  •      The PARTNER® Voice Messaging system Extension Coverage (Automatic or Manual) – With Automatic PARTNER® Voice Messaging Coverage, callers to an unanswered extension with a PARTNER® Voice Messaging mailbox hear the personal greeting of the individual they want to reach¾then, they can leave a message or dial *8 to transfer to another station. Manual Coverage lets the user turn voice mail coverage on and off by using a programmable button on the telephone.

  •      Do Not Disturb (DND) – As usual, pressing the Do Not Disturb button on the telephone of a user with a mailbox prevents ringing, giving the user the flashing alert only before sending all calls immediately to the mailbox.

  •      Voice Mailbox Transfer – For immediate transfer of incoming calls to the PARTNER® Voice Messaging system, without the flashing alert of DND, users can program a Voice Mailbox Transfer button on their phones.

  •      Line Coverage – With line coverage, unanswered calls on the covered line are routed to the PARTNER® Voice Messaging system. The caller is given the option of selecting a mailbox to leave a message, or dialing “0” to reach the receptionist. Typically, line coverage is assigned to a line used for outside access to the PARTNER® Voice Messaging system. Line coverage gives companies a second option for greeting incoming calls in addition to Automatic Attendant Service coverage. The two features cannot be used on the same line.

  •      Transfer Out of the PARTNER® Voice Messaging System – An advantage of the PARTNER® Voice Messaging system over answering machines or Local Exchange Company (LEC) voice mail services is the ability to transfer out of voice mail to any extension by dialing *8 and the station number.

  • Live Call Screeneing - The PARTNER® Voice Messaging system subscribers can activate a call-screening feature that allows a subscriber to listen to the caller leaving a message in the subscriber’s voice mailbox. The subscriber hears the outgoing announcement as well as the incoming caller leaving a message.

Additionally, one of the mailboxes can be designated as a general mailbox usually associated with station 10 (the receptionist), leaving the others for individuals.

Automated Attendant

A single level Automated Attendant, used for both Day and Night service, is provided. The Automated Attendant menu has nine programmable Selector Codes (1-9). Each Selector Code can be programmed to:

  • Dial a station

  • Dial a Hunt Group or Calling Group

  • Activate Direct Extension Transfer

Direct Extension Transfer allows callers to dial the desired station, Hunt Group, or Calling Group by simply entering the digits that correspond to that destination. The Automated Attendant’s Dial 0/Timeout Action (0) feature automatically transfers callers to the receptionist (extension 10), if callers either press “0” or do not make a selection from the Automated Attendant menu.

In addition, the PARTNER® Voice Messaging system allows the System Administrator to record an Automated Attendant menu prompt (an announcement of up to two minutes in length) that is heard by callers when the Automated Attendant answers their calls.

Conclusion

The PARTNER® Voice Messaging system can cost you less than local voice mail providers, such as your Local Exchange Carrier. A small company with a single voice mail provider-supplied voice mailbox (which only answers the first line) can pay about $13.00 per month, year after year, for the service. The PARTNER® Voice Messaging system offers the same capabilities and more, plus three additional personal mailboxes, for about the same monthly payment—but the payments end after the lease-purchase term (usually two years). With owning or leasing your own PARTNER® Voice Messaging system, you can save money and provide better voice messaging service for your business.
